Garcia Design, Inc. was project landscape architect for the redevelopment of a portion of the health department campus to include a new animal shelter. The Animal Services Center occupies eight acres of the entire forty acre campus. The landscape and paving plan integrates architecture with existing trees, a new pedestrian promenade, native landscape plantings, and water conservation measures to achieve a LEED Gold certification. The native & draught tolerant landscape design reduces irrigation water consumption by approximately 65% compared to more conventional landscape design.
